StrokesPlus is Very tiny and Very useful app. I replaced old StrokeIT.
Thank you rob, good work!
There is a small problem:
I put the shortcuts to \Startup, but popup UAC confirm everytime.
my system is Windows 7 Unlimited x64 with SP1.
How to solve?

Thank you, neo, I'm glad you're enjoying the program =)

Windows Vista/7 have heightened security when it comes to applications running as Administrator, and for good reason! But, for applications like S+, this can be annoying. If I paid the $178/year to have S+ signed, I might be able to avoid this inconvenience, but that is too expensive for a free program.

Unfortunately, the only way to have S+ run at startup is to create a scheduled task via:

Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Task Scheduler

I created a Scheduled Task which runs S+ when I log on. Under the General tab, I have checked Run with highest privileges and unchecked Stop the task if it runs longer than: under the Settings tab. Look through the various settings in the scheduled task properties page after you create the task for S+ to make sure the settings are correct for you.

Wow, Windows can be annoying! I mean, what use is it to make it impossible for users to simply add a program to start-up, when it is still possible through a scheduled task? Sounds like a way to force people to pay for signed drivers. I read that Advanced Installer can create installers that add scheduled tasks. Is that only because AI have bought some kind of licence too? I'm on XP so it doesn't bother me personally, but still.

How about this?:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6678781/add-a-scheduled-task-at-the-setup
It seems Schtasks should work on any NT-based Windows, so also on 7.

I also read this:
"Another method I have found that can work is to put the executable into your Environment Variables Path statement."

Oh, but I didn't do anything! I was just trying to talk Rob into investigating ways to have the taste scheduled at installation...

Peccan-almond-durian? Oops, I probably typed "tast" which was then corrected into "taste" by Autocorrect...sometimes it makes my ramblings even worse.

FYI, I'm not ignoring your subtle hint =)

I've done some research on the Task Scheduler API (I wouldn't want to do something tacky like shelling out to schtasks)..I'll get there, but likely as a checkbox in Preferences.

Slowly working my way to implementing it!

Haha, take your time! As I said, I'm not on 7, so I'm fine.
