So I downloaded the consumer preview of Windows 8 and thankfully S+ runs fine; in Desktop mode of course, not on the programs screen, which I didn't expect any programs like S+ would be allowed to interact there.

Actually there is a problem. StrokePlus can't hide itself from the taskbar. The same problem happen with StrokeIt. I'm hoping you can fix it so I finally have a motivation to migrate from StrokeIt So many gesture settings to move...

I see you didn't read the New Bugs forum =) I noticed that too and added it. Always a chance that MS hasn't realized the way Win8 is determining if an app window warrants a taskbar button needs to be re-evaluated, but the bug still stands for Win7 with gesture window always visible and restarting Explorer.

I just haven't had a chance to dig into it yet.

Sorry

I certainly think it's at least partially MS fault, but hoping you can do something about it. I use taskbar in expanded so it's kinda bother me.

Edit: I made this thread on Windows 8 CP forum

As per MSDN, a window (like the S+ window) with the WS_EX_NOACTIVATE extended style:

"[...]The window does not appear on the taskbar by default. To force the window to appear on the taskbar, use the WS_EX_APPWINDOW style."

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ff700543.aspx

S+ does not have the WS_EX_APPWINDOW extended style, thus it would appear the Win8 CP shell is disregarding this rule; unless they have something else in mind for handling these types of windows.

Even tried adding WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW, which is also supposed to indicate no taskbar button, still no dice.
